Without hesitation I can say my experience at Avatar Treatment Center well exceeded any expectations I had. I am incredibly grateful to Jessica in Admissions for her courage and persistence in getting me off the streets of Newark and into treatment which was no easy feat, to say the least. When I was sick with COVID and quarantined for my first 14 days, she hadn’t even met me yet but sent me colored pencils so I could color to pass the time while in isolation. That small act of kindness meant so much. The culinary staff at Avatar is simply excellent. Every meal is prepared with care, ensuring that we not only receive proper nutrition but also enjoy every bite. Not many rehabs serve steak. This one does and they do it extremely well. Also they will make smoothies with ingredients of your choice if on hand and their commitment to making delicious and nourishing meals plays a huge role in the healing process. The housekeeping staff is equally amazing. They are not only dedicated and hardworking but also incredibly pleasant—they’re always smiling! Their effort in keeping the facility spotless and comfortable makes Avatar feel like home. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to begin my recovery. Absolutely best rehab when it comes to accommodations, no other rehab can match Avatar with how you get treated by staff, ability to use your cell phone to handle work needs, or outside issues. Even the food here and the variety offered with the ability to choose and ask for something different if the menu doesn’t suit your taste is amazing and 5-star itself! The therapy offered here is holistic and mixed in 12-step. Avatar has a multitude of therapists that you can ask for based on who you vibe with and get along with the most. I’ve been here the whole stay thru detox and residential, and now i’m going to the outpatient house to do PHP and IOP services and hoping I really get it right this time. I feel like I definitely received the help I needed and wholeheartedly believe I can make this my last time in treatment! If your someone looking for help and wanted to be treated like a human that has worth and value as soon as you walk into the door, I highly suggest checking out Avatar and see everything they have to offer! This was my best decision coming here for help in years, especially when I think about the wasted time at other rehabs. But you definitely get what you put in.
