First 48 hours
Patients usually experience mild muscle and stomach pain and often mild depression, anxiety, and nausea during hydrocodone detox during the first 24 hours of detox.
Acute muscle aches, diarrhea, excessive sweating, and vomiting are common during this period. For most people, diarrhea will likely stop, and withdrawal begins to slowly subside on day 5.
By this time, most physical symptoms will subside, leaving only psychological ones such as anxiety and depression at the forefront. Moreover, many people struggle with intense feelings of remorse for things they said or did while high, during this time.
After the first 2 weeks
Psychological withdrawal symptoms like anxiety can linger for 18-24 months during the hydrocodone detox timeline. This is a symptom of PAWS and requires long-term treatment and further therapy.
